When you join School of Rock, whether as a franchise owner, staff member, or student, you are welcomed into a community of passionate people who support each other and strive to make a positive impact on the world around them. Recently, School of Rock Glenbrook owners - Amy Renzulli, Adam Instefjord, and Dave Vazzano - hosted their fourth annual Staff Show & Fundraiser at Double Clutch Brewery in Evanston, Illinois. The school staff generously volunteered their time to raise funds for the school's scholarship program to make music education more accessible to people from all financial backgrounds. The energy was truly electric as their Show Team rocked a small set, but the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the participation of students from School of Rock Glenbrook's Rookies, Rock 101, and Performance Programs. Each student had the opportunity to perform alongside the staff, showcasing their talent and passion for music. Thank you the the team at School of Rock Glenbrook for working to bring our performance-based music program to even more students in Illinois, to Double Clutch Brewery for having us, and to David Kindler for capturing the spirit of our community through these epic photos. #SchoolofRock #MusicEducation #Community #Fundraiser #Glenbrook #DoubleClutchBrewery

Work is a blast when your best friend is also your business partner! Dave Santamaria and Dominique Abita are not only best friends but also co-owners of their very own School of Rock location in Carlstadt, NJ. Dave is a talented drummer and audio engineer with over 20 years of experience, while Dominique holds a Masters Degree in Music and is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, adept at playing the keyboard, guitar, bass, and singing. They both share a passion for music and wanted to find a fulfilling job in the music industry that would allow them to make a real impact on the world around them. It was this shared passion that led Dave to ask Dominique if she would be interested in becoming business partners to open a music school. After researching various options, they came across School of Rock and were impressed by the passion and dedication shown by the community. They decided that School of Rock was the perfect fit for them and opened the doors of School of Rock Carlstadt in November 2023. According to Dominique, "Owning your own school is a lot of work and planning, but it is absolutely worth it. If you are not too knowledgeable about owning a business, you can learn. As a School of Rock owner, you have the opportunity to mentor your students and your staff as well. You can create a culture that everyone is proud and happy to be a part of, and create a home away from home for everyone. There are no words to describe how you will feel watching your students progress and perform. Opening a school will change your life." Dave and Dominique are truly a dynamic duo, with a special bond that can only come from years of friendship. As business partners, they have created something truly special - a welcoming and secure environment for their students to learn and thrive. #smallbusinessowner #newbusiness #entreprenuer #Carlstadt #NewJersey

From leading dynamic music programs to fostering environments where creativity thrives, Donna Silber is an entrepreneur who isn't just building a business, she's changing hundreds of lives, and empowering other women to do the same. Donna is the owner of School of Rock Fort Collins and the newly opened School of Rock Loveland, and her journey at School of Rock exemplifies resilience and vision. When it came to exploring the idea of being a School of Rock franchise owner, Donna took her time researching all the pieces of the business and talking to a handful of current owners to understand if owning a School of Rock was the right fit for her and her husband. They attended Opening Act, where franchise candidates meet the leadership team and visit local schools - and according to Donna, it was this day that sealed the deal. The Silber's chose Fort Collins, Colorado as the place for their new business, and set to work gearing up to open their school. Then, they were faced with a challenge that no small business owner was prepared for: a global pandemic. According to Pamela Ross, CFE, School of Rock's Director of New School Openings, Donna would spend hours on live-streamed concerts networking for instructors, new customers, and community connections. When it was safe enough to host a Grand Opening, Donna went wild - the event featured face painting, hair styling, pottery painting, and more, all under a huge tent outside. Now, Donna and her husband have opened their second school in Loveland, and she's putting just as much energy and passion into the new location as she did the first one. For aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, Donna says, "Find something you can be passionate about - whatever that may look like to you. If you truly enjoy what you do and focus on providing the very best experience for your customers every single day, you will be successful! Don’t give in to the ‘imposter syndrome’ that is so prevalent in our society today - trust in yourself and know your worth. If you are confident in your skills and abilities that will translate to your team and customers. Try to be your best self every day - we will all make mistakes and succumb to frustration sometimes but apologize, learn from it, and move on." #WomenEntrepreneur #WomanOwned #SmallBusinessOwner #WomenEmpowerment #SuccessStory

Are you feeling bored, ignored, and like you are living someone else's dream? Do you crave a supportive, inclusive and fun company culture? At School of Rock, you can start your own business with the support of corporate resources and a worldwide network of thousands of music lovers. We teach music, change lives, and make a real impact in our communities. Michael Lisante, one of our new school owners in New Jersey, worked for the same organization for 22 years, but couldn't see himself going back to the 9-to-5 life after the pandemic. He left his job and opened a School of Rock. He says, "changing careers in your mid-40's can be scary, especially when you've been at an organization for as long as I have. I considered pivoting to another role in my field, but the thought just left me feeling empty. I began to research what I needed to start a business - a business plan for starters, funding, a location, technology to support it. Weeks went by as I documented all these details, until I stumbled across School of Rock. That's when it hit me like a wall. There's this franchise organization doing exactly what I wanted to do, with all the tools, technology, and resources to support it. I didn't have to reinvent the wheel or go out on my own. It made total sense and I contacted School of Rock that day." Five months later, Michael left his job. He signed on a building lease and a franchise agreement with School of Rock. Ten months later, Michael says "my community has been immensely supportive, and I have hundreds of kids already signed up to start lessons...It has truly been one of the greatest experiences of my professional life. I am so thankful and appreciative of this opportunity, and can't wait to enrich people's lives through performance-based music education!" We have been transforming lives through the power of music for 25 years. Is your life next? This is what community is all about. Recently, seven School of Rock locations collaborated to organize an event called "We Need You in the Band Fest". The concert aimed to provide students with an opportunity to network and play music together, while also supporting our partners at the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS). The legendary Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, was chosen as the venue for the concert, which saw over 100 students performing a total of 63 songs throughout the afternoon. Each school selected one SPTS student ambassador to speak about the importance of mental health and teen suicide prevention, helping to raise awareness and funds for this vital mission. The event was a great success and achieved its goal of bringing together young musicians to promote a worthy cause. It was an incredibly inspiring day thanks to the staff, students, and families from School of Rock Chatham, School of Rock Cherry Hill, School of Rock Clark, School of Rock Cresskill, School of Rock Fort Washington, School of Rock Red Bank, and School of Rock Wayne. Bernadette Lauer first stumbled across School of Rock in an online article in December 2022. Later, while she was sitting at a traffic light listening to music, a sudden realization struck her: she needed to know more about School of Rock. The next day she had a conversation with School of Rock's Franchise Development team about pursuing ownership. Having dedicated most of her career to corporate communications, Bernadette wanted a change that would allow her to make a positive impact in her community. Music had always been an integral part of her life, and she is a firm believer in community involvement, so School of Rock seemed like the perfect place to combine her passions in a meaningful way. "The work to open and operate a school doesn't feel like work to me. There is a lot to do but the intrinsic rewards are invaluable. Owning a School of Rock location has allowed me to fast track being a business owner through an established and proven system, with the flexibility to make my school unique." #SchoolofRock #FranchiseOwner #Entrepreneurship #CommunityImpact
